Milford Sounds photography Field Trip

Updated: Nov 21

Milford Sounds

We had a early start to begin our journey towards Te Anau. Decided to have a look at the Clifton Lime works, but decided not to stop as there was heavy rain. As we headed towards Fiordland the weather began to clear. We had a few random photography stops along the way. After a bite to eat the group decided to go photograph Mirror lakes and Eglinton Valley.

Christie Falls

Location: Situated in Fiordland National Park, along the Milford Road (State Highway 94)

It was just a small group of photography enthusiasts from the intermediate WEA night class. But everyone just chatted and encouraged each other.

Getting the perfect shot -john

I am fortunate to have an amazing job as a photographer and a tutor of photography. How lucky is it to meet amazing people who are like minded and have the passion and drive to learn photography and see the world through a photographers perspective. I love every minute of it and get to go on some amazing adventures.

Trying to keep the cameras steady while taking a slow shutter speed waterfall shot Christie Falls.

After a few photo opportunities we decided why not head to Milford Sound. When we arrived it was a lovely warm wind that kept the sandflies at bay.

An epic day and as you can see the weather cleared and turned out sunny. Thanks John for driving.
